Unfreeze an Animal Working Animal Catalogue
Cows, wolves, dragons, and a log sheet for ice Thaw Labs has not named yet.
This page is the working catalogue for Unfreeze an Animal, not a Pokédex and not a damage table. Thaw Labs has not published a full bestiary, cash-per-second sheet, or mutation list. What we can document without inventing numbers is the ice you can already see in official gallery art and on live six-player servers: Cow (B, starter printer), Wolf (A), and Dragon (S). Rankings and steal gravity live on animal rankings. This index is names, roles, spawn notes from the art, and a method for logging anything else you shove onto a campfire.
Use it mid-run. If you cannot name the silhouette, you should not be arguing about its “DPS” in chat. If you can name it, you should already know whether it belongs on your plot or on someone else’s fire.
How to read a row
Each documented animal gets four fields only:
- Role. Printer, upgrade, or server event.
- Tier letter. B / A / S as used on the tier list hub. Letters describe session impact, not a hidden stat Thaw Labs forgot to show you.
- Spawn note from art. Grass, slope, or night fire — what the official shots actually show, not a fabricated spawn table.
- Play note. Whether you thaw it first, steal it, or sit the pit.
We do not list melt seconds, walk studs, or cash ticks. If a later changelog publishes those, the rows will grow. Until then, trust the HUD after a finished thaw and the behaviour of the other five players.
Cow — B, starter printer
Gallery and gameplay stills show a cow in a clear ice sphere: pink snout, gold horns in the icon art, campfire on the grass behind it. That is the tutorial body. Push it first. Thaw it first. Let it print. The beginner walkthrough is a cow lesson whether the heading says so or not.
Spawn note. Cows sit on short grass near plots, not on the far snow. The official campfire cow shots are lawn-scale, not mountain-scale. That is the balance: low drama, short walk, real cash once owned.
Play note. Steal a cow only if you have zero animals and the owner walked off. Defending a cow while a dragon rolls past is how you stay poor. Replace cows when you own an A-tier, not when you spot one in the wild. Details on make money fast.
Wolf — A, first upgrade
Official slope shots show a red-and-white wolf locked in a full ice ball, often mid-push. That is the first animal that feels like a steal target. The walk is longer than a cow’s. The sphere is easier to intercept. Players will actually chase it.
Spawn note. Art puts wolves on slopes and packed snow, not on the starter lawn. If you are still learning controls, a downhill wolf is a donation waiting to happen. Body-block the vector; do not fight the other player’s avatar.
Play note. Farmers take wolves when the path is short and the pit is staffed. Stealers bump wolves that are already in transit rather than starting a fresh scenic hike. See how to steal and the farmer playstyle. Once a wolf finishes thawing on your ring, it replaces your worst cow. Do not run four cows “for the collection.” This is a tycoon, not a zoo sim.
Dragon — S, server event
The studio put this silhouette on half the thumbnails: a red dragon in a melting globe, an ice dragon dripping in your arms, a dragon parked over the campfire at night. Dragons start movement. If you find one in the wild, assume you have been seen. If you thaw one, hire a sitter or buy melt time. If you steal one, finish the fire immediately; a stolen dragon on a slow melt is a flashing sign.
Spawn note. Night-fire and dripping-globe shots are the tell. Dragons are not the animal you “happen to” walk past on grass. Treat long approaches as public. The protect guide exists because this body overflows the stone ring — centre the torso on the flames, not the tail.
Play note. Solo players without 2x Melt Speed should only commit when the server is sleepy or a friend holds the pit. That rule is also team play in one sentence. Rank S on sight; finish or leave; never AFK the drip. How to unfreeze is the mechanical half of the same timer.
How to log unknown ice
New animals will appear. When you see a body that is not cow, wolf, or dragon, do not invent a wiki name in party chat. Log it:
- Silhouette. Quadruped, winged, horned, tiny, huge.
- Colour in the ice. What you can see through the sphere, not what a thumbnail filter suggests.
- Biome. Grass lawn, slope, snow, night fire, rock cut.
- Server turn. Did two or more players rotate toward it? If yes, treat it as contest ice even before you know the name.
- Cash after a finished thaw. Did the HUD jump in a way you felt, or was it another printer? Ice you only touched does not count.
- Hold difficulty. Could you finish E Unfreeze without a sitter?
File it mentally as S if contested, A if it replaced a cow, B if it was just another printer, C if the walk was a trap. Then keep playing. Do not wait for this index to add a row before you take a good block. Do wait for a finished thaw before you call it S on voice chat.
Bring unknown ice home with the backpack when a slope keeps stealing the sphere. The official description credits that backpack to WinnersTakesAll. A named credit is not a third animal; it is how you haul ice you cannot steer.
What this index will not do
- No fake cash rates, melt timers, or “best DPS” charts.
- No shiny / neon / mutation table until a patch says those layers exist.
- No forty-row bestiary padded with reskins of the same cow.
- No spawn percentages. Six-player servers and live tuning would make a static table a lie by next week.
Colour variation in promotional art is art until the updates hub or changelog says otherwise. Play the body type you can see in the ice.
Loadout, not collection
A healthy plot in hour two is one or two B printers, one A, and an S only if you can defend it. That mix funds the next hunt without turning your lawn into a PvP stage you cannot staff. Stealers invert it: skip B, contest A and S, dump anything they cannot melt before the owner returns — stealer. Compare passes on speed versus melt only after you know which row you are trying to finish.
When Thaw Labs publishes official names and rates, these three rows become a real table. Until then, the catalogue is small on purpose. Name what you can prove. Log what you cannot. Own the thaw. That is the whole index.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Which animals are confirmed in Unfreeze an Animal?
Cow (B printer), Wolf (A upgrade), and Dragon (S contest). Other ice is logged as unknown until we can name it from play or official art.
Why is there no cash or DPS table?
Thaw Labs has not published rates. A fake spreadsheet would contradict the tier list and go stale after the next stamp.
How do I log a new ice block?
Note silhouette, colour, biome, whether the server turned, and whether cash jumped after a finished thaw. Then keep playing.
Are cows worth keeping?
Yes as your session floor. Replace them when you own a wolf or better, not when you merely spot one.
Should I solo a dragon?
Only if you can hold the pit. Otherwise sit with a teammate or skip. See protect your base.
