Unfreeze an Animal How to Steal Frozen Animals

Ice is public until the melt ends. Here is how to take it without wasting the walk.

How to Steal

Stealing is not a side mode. The official Unfreeze an Animal description puts it in the same breath as teaming up: find ice, push it home, thaw it, and steal animals before they unfreeze. If you only hunt wild spawns, you are playing half the economy. This page is the other half — intercepts, pit snatches, and the ethics of not being a server parasite who never thaws anything of their own.

What you are allowed to take

Until a thaw finishes on a plot, the ice is contestable. That includes:

  • A sphere still in the wild that another player has started pushing
  • A sphere rolling across a path between plots
  • A sphere sitting on a campfire that has not completed the melt

Once the animal is owned and printing cash, you are not stealing ice anymore; you are raiding a finished pet. Play the ice. The how to unfreeze page is the defender’s view of the same timer you are attacking.

Intercept the push

The cheapest steal is a bump in the open. Players tunnel-vision on their own fire and shove a dragon in a straight line past three lawns. Cut the angle. Body-block the sphere so their walk no longer aims at their pit. Then reverse the push toward your ring. Do not fight the player; fight the vector of the ice.

+20 Speed (149 Robux, “Walk 20 studs/s faster. Permanent.”) is a steal pass as much as a farm pass. If you will not buy it, take short intercepts and ignore long chases. A failed chase is time you could have spent thawing a common on your own lawn. The speed versus melt tool spells out when speed is the right spend.

Snatch the pit

The mean steal is waiting until someone starts E Unfreeze, then shoving the dripping block off their ring onto yours. This only works if:

  1. Their fire is closer to your plot than to a third hunter
  2. You can finish your melt, not just ruin theirs
  3. You are not leaving a better ice unattended on your own grass

If you knock a dragon into the void between plots, nobody wins. Escort it all the way. The protect guide is written so you can predict how a decent defender will stand — face the path, not the flames.

Pick targets with a brain

Steal value, not motion. A cow on a fire is a tutorial. A dragon, a wolf with a rare palette, or anything you have not indexed yet is the prize. Use the tier list and animal index so you are not griefing starters for pocket change while a high-output block idles two studs away.

If the victim is clearly brand new, you will win and the server will empty. Then you have nobody left to steal from. Mix: thaw your own commons, steal rares, leave the first-hour cow unless you truly need the cash. Make money fast is the farm counterpart so you are not forced into every pit.

Team steals

Two friends on a six-player server can run hunter and escort. One peels the owner, one drives the ice. That is the same split as a defense pair, inverted. Playstyle pages: stealer and farmer. Do not both chase; one of you should already be lighting your fire.

After the steal

You now own a contested melt. Treat it like a bomb. Start unfreeze immediately, face the path you just used, and expect the original owner to come back. If you cannot hold it, you should not have taken it. Finish, park the animal, then either reset for another hunt or swap to defense.

The short clip in the middle of this page is Unfreeze an Animal gameplay with the ice in motion. Watch how long the block stays public. That duration is your entire skill window.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is stealing allowed?

Yes. The official description tells you to steal animals before they unfreeze. It is the PvP layer of the tycoon.

Can I steal an already thawed animal?

The designed contest is the ice. Focus on frozen or melting blocks, not finished pets.

What if I get stolen from constantly?

Read protect your base, thaw closer to the pit, and stop leaving rares unattended.

Does speed help stealing?

Yes. +20 Speed shortens intercepts. Melt speed helps you keep what you took.
